A top bloke, a man full of stories, some true. I met him when I joined the Kinglake Lions Club, he was a great clubman, someone who knew everyone and had a great sense of humour. I bought mowers and chainsaws off him and he was fair and competitive. With Jim pretty they ran a racket selling raffle tickets for Lions Club raffles, one time at a Country Fair we were selling tickets when it was discovered we didn't have any prizes! Well Dave and Jim soon ran around the other stall holders and got a great raffle organised!
Dave told me lots of stories about the old days in Kinglake partly because I was interested but partly because I had old cars and motorbikes and Dave could relate to these.
